Smart water filter
Coffee consists of 98% water. High-quality water is a prerequisite for the best coffee enjoyment. The JURA filter CLARIS Pro Smart revolutionizes water filtration. Thanks to modern RFID or radio identifier technology, the espresso machine is able to communicate continuously with the filter for the first time. The machine recognizes if the filter is inserted and automatically starts the correct mode. It also constantly collects information about the use of the filter and notifies the user when the filter's capacity is exhausted. This not only makes changing the filter easier than before, but also allows the CLARIS Pro Smart filter to achieve optimal efficiency.

Clean water, excellent coffee
The filter CLARIS Pro Smart works on the professional upstream principle and filters the exact amount of water needed to make coffee every time. This ensures the most efficient use of the filter. Stagnant pre-filtered water never remains in the water tank where it can quickly become unhygienic. In addition to scale, heavy metals and substances that deteriorate the smell and taste of coffee, such as chlorine, are also filtered out. Minerals beneficial to health remain in the water. The result is ideal clean water for making coffee drinks and the best anti-scale protection for the machine.

Automatic filter detection
JURA uses modern RFID technology that allows the filter and the espresso machine to communicate. All espresso machines with an intelligent water system (IWS®) recognize when the filter is inserted, automatically switch to filter mode and start the rinsing process. When the filter's capacity is almost exhausted, the machine informs the user about the need to change the filter. If the filter is not changed, the machine activates the descaling mode. After a certain period of use, the machine informs the user that it needs descaling. This can only be done when the filter is removed, so that there is no risk of an error caused by a misunderstanding on the part of the user.
