The right amount of sand has reduced the risk of carry-over and has resulted in a particularly stable soil structure. The addition of a humectant to the soil makes soil replacement cleaner and irrigation easier. Irrigation water is quickly absorbed into the soil, allowing more water to be applied at a time. It is advisable to allow the soil to dry out slightly between waterings, because if the soil is too wet, the plant's root system will not receive the oxygen it needs.
